The advent of Google Gear has opened a vista for the developers to work on solutions to make practical use of this function. Nick Halstead tries his hands on caching WordPress content. In his example he creates a JSON interface to get content from the WordPress site.

He talks about the future and says, this is probably just the beginning for Google but there is potential for what they have released so far. He predicts that a large number of the common frameworks out there will be adding in support as quickly as they can like Cake, Zend, Symphony, Drupal, Mambo, etc. Although only certain kinds of websites will be able to make use of this technology to start with but is going to have rapid uptake even if this just starts out as companies having their contacts pages stored for offline so that you can view them when you need them.
